1. What is MapleStory Vibe Camp?
- A 3-week global game camp where you build and play games using MapleStory IP. Taking place in MSU Space on Verse8, it allows you to bring your ideas to life using MapleStory’s full asset library, including characters, monsters, backgrounds, and music.
2. When does it start and end?
- Vibe Camp launches on June 8 alongside MSU Space in Verse8, with game submissions closing on June 29. After Round 1 screening and Round 2 deep review, the final winners will be announced on July 22.
3. I can’t code — can I still join?
- Yes, that’s exactly the point of Vibe Camp. With vibe coding, you simply describe the game you want — “I want to make a game like this” — and the AI builds it with you. We’ll show a live demo at Verse8 Discord on June 11. Follow MSU on X for details.
4. Who can participate?
- Anyone. Developer or not — if you love MapleStory and want to make a game, you’re welcome. Teams can join too, but each game must be submitted under a single account, and the representative account must complete KYC if selected as a winner.
5. Is there an entry fee?
- No, it’s free. You’ll need credits to build, but signing up for the MSU Builder Web gets you unlimited credits for the entire duration of the camp — highly recommended.
6. How do I participate?
- After logging into MSU Space on Verse8, create a game using the MapleStory IP and submit it through the application form to join the Vibe Camp. For more information, please refer to Verse8 X.
7. How can I get more Verse8 credits for game creation?
- If you have an MSU Builder account and connect it with Verse8, you can continue to receive unlimited credit support. If you only have a regular MSU user account, you will need to sign up for a new Builder account first.
How to connect MSU Builder account with Verse8:
- Click ‘Get started’ on the MSU Space home screen.
- Agree to the ‘Terms & Application’ on the Creator program page, then click ‘Connect your MSU Builder account’ under the Credit Refill policy.
- Click ‘Connect with MSU Builder’ on the MSU Builder banner.‘
8. Can one person submit multiple games?
- Yes. However, a single account can only win in one category.
9. Can I only use MapleStory assets?
- Yes. You’re free to use MapleStory’s designs, music, and other assets.
10. What tool should I use to build?
- Build inside MSU Space, Verse8’s MapleStory IP vibe coding environment. Be sure to check out our available guides and tips to help you along the way!
11. Is there a fixed genre?
- No, any genre is welcome. Bring whatever MapleStory game idea you’ve been imagining.
12. How are prizes paid out?
- Prizes are paid in $NXPC (Nexpace token), valued at the USD-equivalent amount at the time of payout.
13. Is KYC verification required to participate?
- No. KYC verification and API key access approval are not required to access MSU Space or participate in MapleStory Vibe Camp. KYC verification will only be required for participants who become eligible to receive prize distributions.
